Mentorship and Fostering Success

Through the University of the Fraser Valley's Centre for Experiential and Career Education, I gained the opportunity to work as a Youth Mathematics and Biology Tutor for secondary school students. I enjoyed establishing trust and rapport with each student in order to understand their challenges, co-create their goals, and facilitate their success.

Most students struggle with exam confidence; therefore, I created a universal presentation that outlines various strategies for effectively approaching tests utilizing a coaching and mentorship approach. The creation and application of this presentation allowed me to make use of my Powerpoint creation skills and practice working collaboratively with youth. I designed this presentation to be particularly applicable to a young learner population, employing the use of colour, graphics, and concise concepts.
