Contributing to Animal Health and Welfare

Since January 2019, I have been employed at a veterinary clinic in the role of Veterinary Assistant. This challenging and rewarding position has taught me a multitude of skills, which have applicability to a broad range of career opportunities. These skills include effective communication, problem-solving, priority setting, meeting competing demands, delivering sensitive information, team collaboration, animal assessment, and self-discipline. I enjoy responding to emergent animal welfare situations and working closely with the Animal Control Officers of both the Langley Municipality and the Langley Animal Protection Society to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable animals.
